The Cx-660 features the same advanced driver and enclosure technology-and near identical sonic-performance as its larger sibling only in a more compact design, allowing for use in normal size listening environments. The Cx-660’s specially coated fabric composite tweeter and midrange unit are identical to those found in the larger Cx-880. The drive units are mounted into the Cx-660’s precisely dampened and braced enclosure to ensure detail-smearing resonance is thoroughly suppressed. The Cx model’s thick MDF front baffles were designed to make for an incredibly stable environment to mount its powerful drivers, as well minimizing enclosure colorations and stored energy reflections. To handle its low frequencies, its dual proprietary 6.5” woofers reinforce the precise performance of the Cx-660 midrange and high frequency drivers. Featuring the same technology as the Cx-880’s low frequency drivers, such as straight-sided concentrically reinforced diaphragms, large voice coils and over built motor structure, the Cx-660 will produces bass notes with a startling power and authority. Its carefully tuned crossover is designed minimize unwanted phase shift while maintaining a very linear impedance response, allowing the Cx-660 capable of rendering a precise and true sonic performance much more substantial than ever expected from a loudspeaker in its range.
